ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder):
- ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulties in communication, social interaction, and repetitive or rigid behaviors.
- ASD is a spectrum, meaning it includes a wide range of symptoms and levels of severity.
- Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial in helping individuals improve their abilities and quality of life.
It is important to note that some neurodevelopmental conditions may coexist with or share symptoms similar to ADHD.
A proper clinical diagnosis and early intervention by qualified professionals are essential to support each individual’s unique needs.
This public awareness talk will be presented by a pediatrician, a speech therapist, and an occupational therapist, combining real clinical case studies to:
- Provide a comprehensive understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Promote awareness of neurodiversity
- Explain how speech therapy can help individuals with autism
- Share how occupational therapy supports individuals with autism
